And actually NO. A lot of people had already known about Shakira (yes, in Anglo countries) since the release of her MTV Unplugge in 1999, which is 2 years before her "crossover". So...

Paulina comes not as quickly? Well, critics disagree with you. Check some of the most recent lists on the most successful Latin artists and you'll see. Thalia isn't even there. I can't remember very well which list it was, but probably Billboard placed Pau at #7 as one of the most successful Latin artists in the 2000s.

In Portuguese CALUDA is a way of saying SHUT UP, then make your nickname useful. Paulina Rubio is not the Queen of Latin Pop, I know her though.

Shakira looks amazing, as usual! I want it longer though!
