First, let's not pretend range and power are synonymous. They're not.

Anyways, you and I both know Mariah loves nothing more than to flaunt whistle notes; whereas, Kelly has performed only one EVER, so I don't think it's fair to compare their ranges like that. Nixing the whistle notes, their ranges are, more or less, equal.

Kelly can hit whistle notes too and do all that jazz. Kelly has said in interviews she doesn't hit all those high octave notes often because she doesn't want to show off and be compared to Mariah. She only did it on Idol because it was a competition and she wanted votes.

But I can't with this image ****. Kelly is herself. That's all she wants to be. She doesn't need to do that typical pop star nonsense of have a "look" for each era. She aint here for that.

Now that I think about it, neither is Kween Mariah.

Kelly also took a huge risk with releasing My December. There wasn't one radio friendly song on that album.

Why is Christina being brought up? How about we get a good live performance from her, then we compare her to Kelly. Yes, she has done "Fighter", "Candyman", "Impossible", etc, but her voice is not good live, while Kelly sounds the same as her records. Facts are facts.
