They're rounded off. If you look at previous updates, it was at 50%, then went down to 45%, and back to 50%.

This means it could have been lingering at 47.5%+, dipped below for one update, and then back above, thus giving a few deceiving updates.

No, it's more than just rounding. They changed something. It's extremely unusual that things are changing so quickly. Bieber dropped like 35% in a few hours the other day in the UK, Gotye gained 20% instantly and then almost completely stopped gaining, and songs are fluctuating up and down while others--who aren't even rounded to the nearest 5%--don't change at all.

EDIT: I just remembered that they're actually all rounded to the nearest 5%, and Kworb is just trying to estimate them to more detailed levels. I still believe they've changed the system, though.
