ATRL Artist Discovery
How it works:

- We will discuss one artist at a time. I'll post a new artist twice a week.
- You submit artists to me by PM. These artists join a sort of waiting list. You can only have one artist on the list at a time.
- You submit by sending the name of the artist, and up to three youtube links (or other legal links) to listen to or watch their material. If you have any nice photos you can submit those too, and also a description of the artist, your own opinion of them, etc.

Point system:

A point system is used to determine which artist is reviewed next. Here's how you earn points:

- 1 point for submitting an artist

- 2 points for writing a general review (50+ words) about the current artist
- 1 point per song review, maximum of 3 per artist

So fully reviewing an artist gets you 5 points. You can only review the current artist, not the artists that were posted before.

If more people choose the same artist, those people's points are pooled. The artist with the most points will be the one reviewed, and the artist's backers lose all of their current points. They can then submit a new artist to me.

In case of ties, the reviewed artist will be chosen at random.

Artist restrictions:

Artists who have had more than one top 20 hit in the US (Hot 100) in the past 10 years cannot be used.

I think the concept is pretty easy. This way your fave will finally get some time in the spotlight, and you are encouraged to discover artists you might have never heard of. So PM me your chosen artist (along with three youtube links) and hopefully we can get this thing started soon. Don't let this flop.

Yep. It's an ongoing thing, it's not a game that you can win. The point system is just to determine which artist is reviewed next. And by writing your own reviews about other artists you make sure your artist's turn will be sooner rather than later.

Nah the chosen artists should be a surprise. If two (or more) people pick the same artist, their points are pooled, so it only helps you because your artist's turn will come quicker.
