Are you one of those who prefer to see a film in 3D because it enhances the storyline, the visuals, the cinema experience?
Or are you the kind who goes out of the way to find a 2D ONLY showing, because 3D is such overated mess.
So let's hear it. Do you think 3D makes a film better? Like for instance, Resident Evil Afterlife, even though I love this film so much, I sometimes feel like Paul Anderson focused on too much slow motion and enhancing the 3D technology and forgetting about the plot.
Or you have 3D films like Avatar which, though the plot was still weak, it made the film groundbreaking on all levels.
They are also re-releasing a lot of films, such as Beauty and the Beast, Finding Nemo, UP, Titanic, Star Wars, Toy Story, The Little Mermaid, even Top Gun in converted 3D.
Question is why? Are they trying to enhance the experience? Or just make extra cash?
If anyone didn't know, you see the
Finding Nemo trailer in 3D at the Titanic 3D showing.

My opinion? If the 3D is done right, yes, I think it makes a film better. If the 3D is horrible, like most converted films, I think sometimes it can take the experience away.
Both Star Wars / Titanic in 3D were good, but were not perfect. There was a lot of depth in between characters in Titanic, but overall, I felt like it could've been so much better.
Films like Avatar though, I haven't watched Avatar in 2 years. I feel like the 3D version is what made Avatar....
Avatar. When it was in the theaters, I saw it like 8 times, 7 of the times in 3D. Ever since I bought it on Blu-Ray, in 2D, it hasn't been the same experience. Seeing it in 2D, imo, made the film worse. Once the 3D version EVER gets released, I'm probably going to watch it at least once every other month
I own over 50 3D Blu-Rays and some make the experience amazing, and others are just pointless. If it's converted, that is...
