This obviously is not the first time something like this has been done. We're all familiar with it.

The only reason why I don't like things like this is because it makes it seem as if everything is augmented and unnatural, which really isn't the case. It does get the point across, tho.

Is all that we see an illusion, or do the things that "enhance" what we see make it hard to weed the real stuff out?

Your starting to realize this? So much work goes into this. It's definitely an illusion ,especially photoshop. People don't realize how much of their pictures get altered to make them look perfect. Just because someone looks flawless in a professional photoshoot doesn't mean they actually look like that. They may have some of the assets, but their face is different if you seem them in real life. Some people get brianwashed by all of that. They think they need to emulate their looks when it's just all photoshop.


Same goes for celebrities. We rarely see them without makeup or just looking avarage because they are always in front of the camara. At the end of day, they are just regular looking people like the rest of us. They just have money to make them look good.

Photoshop should be illegal in magazines & commercials.

I know everyone gonna laugh but it's like ****! So many teenagers are like "HE WAS SO SMALL AHAHA" when in reality **** stars are abnormally large usually, or photoshopped or whatever video techniques they do to make them look larger.

All in all thought I don't think they drastically do it THAT much. Maybe in makeup ads but not generally. I saw LIGHTS expecting her to look different in person and she looked even better to be very honest.

No, I've known it ever since I wanted to get involved with making movies, and that was years ago.

I just don't like how it makes it seem as if everything is fake. I have a cousin who insists that every celebrity is fake and sometimes it gets really annoying. Not all celebrities opt for retouching. Sometimes it's done without them knowing. They're not all hoping on tables to be cut up either.

There are everyday people who look better than lots of celebrities, but we're not as quick to point fingers at them and question whether they've been nipped & tucked. I know celebrities are under the spotlight, which is why it's easier to nitpick them, but still... It just makes me wonder.

I don't even know how to use photoshop though, it's so confusing. I don't know how y'all do it. Focussing in on ATRL, it makes me wonder how many of the people on PYP actually look like the photos they post.
