Congrats to her, but it's not really a fair comparison; Elton was in his prime during the 70's & 80's.

This list is since 1991 (Soundscan era).
Most of their sales were before 1991.

Right. And she's continued to release successful albums into the next two decades as well; Elton hasn't as much.

If SoundScan would have come around a year earlier. She would have 5+ million more albums for this list.
