Rumor Has It is Adele's 4th single off her album 21. Her other 3 all went #1 on the Hot 100. Will Rumor Has It join them?
- 10 million people already have the album
- a lot of people already are aware of the song through Glee exposure and long AirPlay
- it has already sold over a million copies
- I hear people in school already mocking the chorus, because they already think it's overplayed
- It has been getting great updates on the radio, but ITunes position remains relatively stable.
^ although it could be argued that radio is just now catching up with ITunes, not that ITunes is behind.
- Adele could easily do more promo. Her performances, historically, have had HUGE impact on her singles.
- there is supposedly a music video in the making that could usher in more sales.
- Adele has surprised us before, and it almost a general rule to never under estimate her
So ATRL where will it peak?
*note: I am well aware that this has been done before several times.
I can see it going top 10, but I'd like it to peak at #1 (and then have One And Only go to #1 afterwards) so she can show people what it's like to notch 5 #1s without discounting her singles and re-releasing them with horrendous remixes.
I'd say top 10, like you said so many people already own the song so I dont see its sales being amazing, but its airplay will definitely be huge so top ten for sure, maybe top 5
