I believe this avatar stands out not just because it represents who I am, but it also represents a certain population of ATRL, The Hungerians. It is indeed one of the most famous and critically acclaimed movie / book in this site. So this doesn't just show who I am but ATRL as a whole as well.

As seen normally, though, it only has the words "They don't even..." because the size is too big that it can only feature that part of the avatar Well, sorry about that. However, it may still show who I am when continued. Like "They don't even care" or "They don't even like me" still regarding my problem about life. BUT, it may also mean:


And I stick with that saying to boost my confidence and be proud of myself. Because I believe that in time, they'll begin to like me for WHO I AM.

I know it's hard to stand out in a website of so many members. It's hard, especially with so many avatars being made from the specific video used for mine (Madonna's "Girl Gone Wild"), but mine was chosen because it flows. It's not just some random part that anyone just is like "Sooo it's a clip. Therefore... it can be an avatar!!!". I prefer more avatars that actually have good flow.
This one shows pretty much everything that's in the video. It's attractive, fierce, and as I said earlier, flows. It can have a lot of appeal to those who like Madonna, and to those who... like attractive men.

My avatar is of the queen Shermie of the King Of Fighters series. I've loved fighting games all my life, but the KOF series is my absolute favorite (despite the fact that nobody else seems to know what it is ...it's like the poor man's street fighter). Shermie is one of the characters, and I love everything about her character. Her moveset is sexual and provocative compared to the other characters, and despite kicking major ass, she remains feminine. She sometimes takes out her cellphone mid battle to talk to her gorls . Shermie and I are similar in that we're both outgoing (as a top member should be, IMO) and have a similar way of presenting ourselves (not physically (i'm NOT a drag queen )...but in the fact that we are both confident in who we are and exude self confidence in our posture and demeanor), however I didn't make her my avi because we are similar. She's a character that I've "stanned" for for years and there's also that hope/wishful thinking that someone may recognize her . Some of my previous avi's were of anime's that I watched growing up (tenchi in tokyo, dragonball) and I just love it when someone writes on my wall "OH MY GOD I REMEMBER THAT"...it's nostalgic and it brings back better/easier days. Long story short, when I pick an AVI I make sure that they bring back some sort of nostalgia or are just fun to look at...which goes with my previous posts about me just trying to make other users happy (even if it's for something as "insignificant" or small as an avatar ).

The avatar I have selected represents the image I have been trying to project throughout this competition -- maturity, class, and sophistication.

I chose Adele as my muse for this challenge as I find her to be a perfect example of an artist who represents all three values. Adele is one of the few artists who does not have to resort to feuds with other industry artists, and undignified cheap photo's to have her voice heard. She refuses to be one of those stereotypical pop girls and insists on letting her music speak for itself. For me, both her albums have resonated with me on a personal level*. She conveys the most heartfelt emotions through simple, straightforward lyrics and does so without having to resort to immature gimmicks, and classless tactics. I feel as these values are represented in Adele, and have represented me thus far throughout this competition. I do not resort to tasteless name calling, or attention grabbing gimmicks in order to make myself stand out from the rest. At the end of the day, I stay true to myself.

From the unusual sizing of the avatar to the simplicity of the image, I feel this avatar truly stands out from the other contestants. This simple, quiet photo unsuspectingly draws you in, and projects the image of a silent force to be reckoned with. Adele was seemingly the dark horse when her album "21" was released, and I feel that I may be the dark horse in this competition. Class, maturity, and sophistication is my mantra, and Iike Adele, I will not compromise these values in order to make it farther in this competition.

As hard as it may be to believe, this wasn’t the result of some fanboy fantasy. Of course, if it fuels our fanfiction writers with new material, then I'll receive their thanks and urge them onwards, but that wasn’t my goal when I made this avatar.

Now, I’m a huge Shayne Ward fan. I mean, that man’s talent has no limit. THOSE VOCALS, THOSE HEAVEN-SENT VOCALS. No one else has that range, that power. Every performance just leaves me weeping tears of both joy and sheer disbelief. He has it all. Where is the flaw? Where is the balance?


I could go on. I want to. But I shan't. As you can see, the very thought is enough to send me straight into a state of intense, indescribable emotion. I actually need a minute to compose myself.






















Alright. Basically, I wanted an avatar that displayed my undying love for him. That was my base reason. Like most avatars on ATRL, I suppose.

After searching Youtube for a performance or an interview, I realized that I'd much rather make an avatar that stuck out because it presented something unique, rather than just a nice scene that I happened to like. However, I realized that first I'd need to get the attention of the viewer from the start, so I knew a shirtless scene was the way to go for ATRL's population. And I figured hey, let's go ahead and make something that's both humorous and a bit (for lack of a better word) kinky at the same time. If anything most humor usually relies on the latter.

So I decided to create an avatar that displayed another (more recognizable) star fantasizing/idolizing/fawning over Shayne Ward. And if that wasn't funny enough ("My fave? With that lessor? HAW"), I'd make it a male celebrity - because everyone finds the idea of a straight person in a homosexual fantasy far more amusing than some star talking about his/her latest heterosexual crush (as I'm typing this out someone just made a new post in the "Rihanna is a lesbian" thread).

Three videos of Shayne's came to mind.

One was immediately disregarded. The second could only work if I edited it into some twisted voyeuristic scene which even I wasn't prepared to do, but the third, the video for his single 'Gotta Be Somebody' had multiple scenes of him at his window. And so I went with that.

I then tried to think of another attractive male still relevant in the public eye and only Justin came to mind, so I started recalling all the videos he had starred in and 'Ayo-Technology' was just perfect with those snazzy, hi-tech binoculars he sported in it. So I got to work and a couple of hours later, this avatar was introduced to the world.

So yeah, I'd say the entire process of me creating this avatar as well as the final product itself reflects quite a bit on my personality. I love making people laugh. Any kind of humor will do, whether it's something semi-intelligent or me hitting myself on the head with an empty bottle - I'll adapt as necessary. This avatar is - in my opinion - another example of that, because it was a deliberate attempt to get everyone's attention, keep it, and then find a way to amuse them. It was more for everybody else than myself, if that makes sense - even though I'm definitely quite fond of it as well.

I think it works. It's funny. It's messy. What is life on ATRL but both of those things?

This is my avatar. I believe it totally manifests my personality, how I act, and what I wear.

My avatar comes from Nicki Minaj's most recent video and promo single, "Beez In The Trap". She is shown running her beautifully crafted fingers through that precious, light green wig. The picture then switches to her upper chest area, where she is holding a shiny, gold chain that reads "Beez Trap" to the center of the shot. Ever since I retrieved this one-of-a-kind avi, I always tell myself that the lessors cannot handle the fierceness.

Well, chains have caught my eye since I was a little boy. I owned a huge variety of them, whether by size, shape, color, or design. Believe it or not, wearing a chain/necklace was and still is my number one priority when it comes to getting dressed in the morning. Not once have I stepped out of the door without double-checking if I had my chain secured around my neck. At school, I'm a bit boastful. No matter who it was, I'd hold my chain in their face and say "U wish u had dis" (). So when I saw the chain being held up in this gif, I knew it would be the perfect avi for me, without hesitation.

Also, I used to love pretending like I have a long, straight weave. I usually flip it when I know I'm slaying effortlessly. For example, in my Geography class, my teacher hosted a Jeopardy competition for the kids that had completed all the homework assigned the last class. I was one of the four students that finished (*flips hair*), so I was a contestant in the running. EVERY question that I had attempted to answer was correct. The kids were glaring at me the whole time. I knew they were intimidated and jealous of my slayage, so I constantly flipped my "weave" to get them even more irritated. This habit was pretty much another way of saying "Yu mad boo?". Watching Nicki stroke her fingers through ha wig gave me memories of those priceless days.

Another purpose for choosing this avatar is because of the song. It's been my straight jam since the minute it leaked. BITT is strictly urban, and strictly urban music always brings out my personality. Whenever this plays on my iPod, I start strutting the hallways of my school like a QUEEN. It gives me that "What dey gon say? Do ya thang boy" attitude. So looking for an avi related to my current jam was an absolute must.

Whether the sick chain, the iconic wig stroking, or the complete slayage of the song itself, I feel this avi totally represents me. I am very thankful for discovering this gif, and look forward to keeping it for a long time.

I have great hair. Really though -- have you seen how casually it falls on my face with that effortless cool? How it sticks up and out in all the perfect places without ever being a mess or trying too hard? It's moody in the almost-covering-my-left-eye kind of way, but it doesn't take itself too seriously. It's like I have dark and mysterious on one side and light and open creeping up on the other. I got that hipster Instagram-y color filter all up on it but you can still tell it's a wacky red from the sunlit patch in the back. It's artistic and thoughtful but still fun and lively. And you can tell from my pensive face that my mind is getting down to business beneath it. And the birds behind me? We're buddies, my hair isn't here to start fights. It's just enjoying the weather with them. It's bright and fresh outside and that's the kind of environment my hair most likes to kick back in.
