Since you didn't say that it HAD to be an NBA team, I'll go with my favorite team, period: The Kentucky Wildcats, who are so good that NBA analysts wonder if they could beat the worst NBA teams. (Which they could not, for the record.)
Favorite player? Either John Wall or Anthony Davis. Depends on the day.
Am I bad fan for still liking the Thunder after they left Seattle? I did love the Supersonics. The Glove and The Rainman..one of the best tandems ever.
I've been a Celtics fan my entire life even when they sucked in the 90s and early 2000s and even now when they aren't real contenders.
My current favorite player is Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen and Paul Pierce on certain days.
Of all time my favorite players are Larry Bird, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Michael Jordan.
I'm a HUGE basketball fan... played it in high school and watch at least 1 NBA game every single day.

Everyone jumped onto the Celtics bandwagon at 2009-2010, they were pretty good
The best basketball player of the 21st century, Kobe "Black Mamba" Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers. To be a king, you must have the rings. I had no choice in the matter, I was birthed by a Lakers die hard fan; my dad was born in raised not too far from Staples Arena.
