I have a question about the album price rule for the BB200..

does anyone know if a label can stop a retailer from selling an album at a lower price? for example when Adele or Taylor Swift release a new CD they might want to do the same thing they did with Gaga and it would mean that a huge part of their sales wouldn't be counted. I don't think that's fair to the artist/label at all

I'm sure I read somewhere that Adele's label doesn't allow retailers to discount 21 too heavily.

I'm not sure if the same rules apply to the music industry, but broadly speaking, organizations have a lot of power over how retailers and intermediaries sell their products because of the effects of brand image.

Isn't Madonna's drop is like one of the hugest % wise?

If indeed she actually sell that much albums?

It will be enormous and it might turn out to be the biggest ever.

And it went up to #12 in iTunes. It was at #15 two days ago.

Let her be great.

Interesting how Fun.'s song is doing better than Gotye's, but Gotye is selling more albums.

I've noticed that as well.

Maybe it's cuz STIUTK has been getting more play on Alternative stations for a longer period of time. WAY just overtook it on the format today despite being ahead on every other format.

Fun.'s album is a disappointment. WAY is the only good song.
