Hey all! I know you're all mostly about your Rihanna's and Gaga's around here, but I wanted to post about one of my favorite Australian musicians Missy Higgins.
She's been out since 2004, having her music featured on American television shows and movies such as Grey's Anatomy, One Tree Hill, So You Think You Can Dance and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Since her debut, she has won best female solo artist in Australia TWICE, Album of the year, song of the year, and breakthrough artist. Also, both of her albums (The Sound of White and On A Clear Night) have reached #1, and both lead singles from those albums hit #1 there as well. Leann Rimes is currently covering her song "Where I Stood" for her album coming out later this year.
Anyway, later this year she'll be supporting Gotye (a fellow Australian) in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and she just recently announced her new album, "The Ol Razzle Dazzle" as well as the very anticipated lead single "Unashamed Desire", which she wrote with another co-Australian Butterfly Boucher.
Hopefully you'll all check her out and get into her music. She's more singer songwriter pop than euro dance, but she's an amazing songwriter with an amazing voice.
