He did both. If you watched 'Never Say Never', it is clear that the sudden transition from a quiet life in Canada to the stage of Madison Square Garden is such a quantum leap.
I'm sure much of what you said is true, that's what he wanted to do with his life, and at such a young age having that dream come true is beyond your wildest dreams, but sometimes you gotta wonder what goes on in his head. Those moments, when he's alone. He feels the pressure, like any other artist.
I'm glad that he takes the time to talk to his fans instead of doing something rash. Shows that he was brought up well. The kid will stay at the top and relevant for years, if he has his head on straight - just look at Taylor Swift. You'll see why.
