The intros that are cut off/sped up. You can hear it especially on the opening pianos of Marilyn Monroe, Stupid Ho, Va Va Voom, and Right By My Side.

I want Nicki to give the middle finger to "the ghetto", and just focus on her pop career. Her look, style and even the type of music she makes, it just doesn't work for hip-hop. She should be seen and marketed as a popstar that dabbles into hip-hop, NOT the other way round.
I'm a UK fan, and we're only here for Pop Nicki. I'm done with her trying to achieve a balance. It doesn't work, and she is clearly alienating hip-hop audiences. So ditch them.
Her own words - don't change who you are to fit in. Hip-hop will never accept her. Pop does, has and always will.

By how this is all panning out, it's obvious she still won't win. She can not just ditch who made her. "Pop" was not checking for Nicki Minaj back when she was in Queens. So, no she will never just go "pop", ever.

I actually hope she does more dance-pop. I hope she keep 50/50 rap and pop. I don't wanna see her give in like that. She better stay true to what she's really interested in doing.
She also said that mixtapes aren't out of the picture!

**** NO.
I've been a fan of Nicki since Sucka Free and a STAN since Beam Me Up Scotty. I don't want her to just become a pop star at all. Her Hip-Hop tracks are great, and that's what built her.
I'm not going to be here for all of these bandwagon Pop fans (not you of course) jumping on and riding for Nicki based on a few dance tracks.
Nicki just had her OWN 106 & Park, and she performed all of the urban tracks MUCH better than she has Starships.
I love every song on the album, but I always need my RAP.
And Pop hasn't always embraced her, those idiotic fans like the simples minded music because they're to DEAF DUMB to comprehend Hip-Hop.

Why would she focus on her pop career when she's known as NICKI MINAJ The Rapper?..
Why would she focus on her pop career when RAPPING is what she's known for?
I'm not too clear on what you're trying to say...

I would love for her to do mixtapes to keep her strictly urban fans happy, and then when the album rolls around do like she did with PF:RR where it's a mix of the genres she wants to work with.

Be honest:
Just based on the music, do you prefer Pink Friday or PF: RR?
I still haven't decided yet.

hmm idk at this point its so many options and twist and turns but i feel like she should not waste this album and it's single potentials she has to milk it for all it's got and it'll give her more time to put alot of quality for the next album.
and shiiit nicki is just so diverse its sometimes confusing on what she should do next but i do not want more substance in both genres of the music she has

The fact it's actually being debated whether Nicki should still be recording dance-pop songs... What ********. I can't even accuse any of you for being "local", because the US Hot 100 speaks for itself.
So I'm done stanning for Nicki on ATRL. Somebody else should take over this thread. I'm not updating or discussing Nicki Minaj on ATRL anymore. Between the preying haters and the weak-ass stans, it's not fun, and it's only Day 3 of the album's release.

Pink Friday. It was a perfect balance and sounded more like Nicki. PF:RR isn't even fully Roman and she jumped head first into Pop.
I honestly think she should've taken it slow with the transition to pop songs, though I love them to death.

I love the first half of PF:RR, the 2nd half, I honestly wish she just kept like 4 of the pop songs (Starships, PTA, Whip It, Va Va Voom) and then continued with raw rap.
But... album wise, PF. It was amazing and so structured.

Hmm, I agree with what you said. PF is a much more focused, cohesive album, but PF: RR has songs that simply blow anything PF has out of the water (ie. Come on a Cone, Beez in the Trap, Whip It). I feel like if Nicki made the album about 17 or 16 songs, it would be much better, but now it does contain unneeded filler, like Sex in the Lounge, Beautiful Sinner, and Gun Shot.
I'm still on the fence.
