Well maybe urban audiences have turned their backs on her. It's a shame, but at the same time, not really.
Urban audiences have been holding her back. I hope she scraps her plans of doing urban singles, and just focuses on the pop crowd. She can be on-par with Katy Perry and Ke$ha, so why not just focus up and go for it?
If being on par with those girls means low album sales just to have a couple of hit singles, can we really say her urban fanbase was holding her back? I've always wanted album sales over hit singles.
I still don't buy the fact that she would of sold a ton more if she didn't have the poppy songs anyway. I mean with Stupid Hoe and Roman Reloaded making no significant impact on the charts? Then without the pop songs she wouldn't even have a top 10 song right now, and Right By My Side would JUST be taking off. Yeah not buying it's cuz of Starships this happened. Still really isn't bad imo.
The sort of weird thing about this is that she didn't abandon her urban base - almost half the ****ing album is urban. Not all of those urban tracks are amazing, but they are there, and let's not pretend all of her rap tracks on PF were masterpieces.
If you were a Nicki fan before, I don't know why this album would be a total dealbreaker. If it is, then I guess your musical taste is pretty limited.

. She could even go on to sell under than 200K.
