1. B'DAY by Beyonce- I like every song on the album, I'm so glad there is only 10 tracks. This reminds me of Destiny Fulfilled where I liked all the songs and now I love EVERY SONG. (The only R&B masterpiece of 2004) I hope once I hear B'DAY on cd, its the masterpiece I'm thinkin it is when I heard it on first listen. The verdict is still out until Sept. 4th but from first listen I really was diggin it. Get Me Bodied, Upgrade U, Resentment and Irreplaceable are FIYAH!!
2. Back 2 Basics by Christina Aguilera- She did the damn thing on this album. She over-sings alot but with the voice she has its expected. She should have just made a one disc album then it would have been a masterpiece like I first thought it was. Its a classic tho cuz I love how she is introducing music made popular by blacks to this generation. Fave tracks- Slow Down Baby, Save Me From Myself, Makes Me Wanna Pray, Back In The Day , I Got Trouble and Nasty Naughty Boy.
3. Loose by Nelly Furtado- This album has made me a fan. Its really good. I love the diverse sounds and styles with hip hop as the background. The only problem is that she put her bangaz at the top and ended it with ballads, BAD IDEA. Fave tracks- Promiscous, Maneater, All Good Things Come To An End ft. Chris Martin, In Gods Hands and Showtime.
4. Between Friends by Tamia- This has to be her best album since her debut (I haven't heard her 2nd album). I hope she gets good promotion with it and that it sells like funnel cakes. She should market to the Urban AC crowd cuz young people will sleep on it cuz they into Ciara and Cherish. smh My fave tracks- 2 Grown 4 That, Daydreaming, Me and Last First Kiss.
5. King by T.I.- Best hip hop album of the year. There is a song for every type of hip hop lover. Would have been nice if he had a female singer on the album. Fave tracks- What U Know Stand Up Guy, Why U Wanna and Livin In The Sky.
6. In My Own Words by Ne-Yo- A great debut by the man known for his songwriting gems. This album is one of the best debuts I've heard this decade. His voice gets annoyin at times which hinders me from gettin into a few tracks completely. Fave tracks- Let Go, Sign Me Up, Stay, Time and Mirror.
7. FutureSex/LoveSounds by Justin Timberlake- this album has to really grow on me. But I do love alot of the songs. Verdict is out until Sept. 12th. Fave tracks- Summer Love, Chop Me Up, My Love and SexyBack.
8. Kelis Was Here by Kelis- Her best work yet. A rainbow of different styles and sounds that Kelis is known for. Just wished she would have sanged more and did somethin that challenged her vocally. Fave tracks- Bossy remix ft. Slim Thug, Blindfold Me, Till Da Wheels Fall Off and Like U.
9. LeToya- Generic R&B with H-Town flava. A very nice debut proves to all the haters and doubters that she does has talent. But she needs to do somethin to make people notice her instead of over lookin her. Fave tracks- All Eyes On Me, Torn, Gangsta Grillz and Somethin 4 Ya.
10. The Big Bang by Busta Rhymes- a very good hip hop album. Probably his best work yet. Never been a big Busta fan but this album is classic hip hop meets today's hip hop. My fave tracks are In The Ghetto ft. Rick James, Been Through The Storm ft. Stevie Wonder, NY **** and Legends.
