This is a very interesting discussion.
To be honest I think her music wouldn't resonate with her fans as much if she was supermodel beautiful. I've noticed that a lot of her fans seem to believe that she is a deeply artistic person and I'm not saying that statement isn't true, but if other artists' fans said the same thing about their own fave (eg. Katy Perry, who writes her songs too), people would just laugh. Because at the end of the day most pop stars' careers are based on image, so when people see a stunningly beautiful pop star they write them off immediately as probably having no talent and only having a record deal because of their oral skills or something

The amount of times I've gone into SYG and seen people referring to Katy as some sort of producer's ****, with absolutely no evidence or reason to believe that, is ridiculous. It's just the fact that she's pretty and has big boobs that makes people somehow believe she's a ****. Gaga doesn't have all that, so to see her where she is now makes people think that she has a lot of integrity as an artist because she doesn't have any looks to rely on, only talent.
