Bad Romance is an amazing pop song, but I don't think it's the revolutionary masterpiece that her fans make it out to be. There are better songs on TFM imo, and I prefer most of her videos from The Fame era.

Don't get me wrong, Bad Romance is epic, but she does have better songs and videos imo. So yes, it is overrated.

There is nothing generic about BR and the song and video fit quite well.

Like most major hits, it is definitely overrated by stans. As soon as a song is successful people have nothing but praise for it, because they start theorising about why it was so successful, and come up with these wonderful tales about "changing the sound of pop" etc. When before it's release it didn't get nearly as much praise from the same people.

It just goes to show how impressionable stans can be (with regards to what other people think of an artist and a song).
