Like, what the **** are you talking about?

pretty sure it was referring to the fact that her music is as innovative as Katy Perry's which is not a diss simply stating the obvious that she does not receive any respect because of it so it would be odd to claim that any1 else with the same music would
Just because you go on tour doesn't mean you get respect from it, especially if it's not good
Singing again, nothing standout to recieve major respect
Videos, this is more of an opinionated one because some of the videos actually had substantial creative input garnering the grounds for some respect (but I personally doubt those concepts were hers)

I will never have respect for her. She is and will always be a basic popstar who got famous because she wore a ****ty school uniform.

So Gaga's potential is already depleting because you said so?
Explain to us more about what's in store, oh fortune teller.

The thing that gets me about the monsters is that they perceive gaga to be some kind of Einstein, Picasso, Leo De Vinci. Just because she uses big words and speaks " intelligently", they take her super serious. You guys believe all the crap about "art" she speaks. Like get over yourself, she just a pop star.

Not many people care.

im pretty sure there was a thread a few weeks/months ago asking who respects Gaga and an overwhelming majority of non gaga stans did, whether they actually liked her music was irrelevant as it should be in this case.

Britney fans are really oblivious to the negative connotations and negative popstar stereotypes associated with her name.
Ironically the show on which she's trying to be a judge warned its winning contestant to be careful NOT to end up like Britney Spears
AT THIS POINT in her life/career, no one wants to be the next Britney Spears.

As much as I love Gaga, I actually have to agree with this.

This discussion is pointless. Britney already informed the chick that's getting her pop crown in 10 years.

Exactly. These kids clearly don't remember Britney's peak. Gaga has never touched Britney and never will.

The same argument can be made for Britney stans overstating how the public views Britney. "Lots of people just see her" as that once widely successful singer who endured a very public breakdown and is now a shell of her former self.
Gaga is carving out a legacy of her own. Britney can keep hers.

i totally disagree with this. What would make them have more of a voice than every1 else's stans? You all have to deal with the fact that Gaga has a huge stanbase. Not only that but it is an extremely DEVOTED base, which may be why you see so much more gaga love on the internet than of any other star because not only does she have the most fans, most of those fans at least at this point are not band wagon Adele like fans, they love the bitch and everything she stands for and are willing to fight for her
|
That's just the thing. Gaga's fanbase doesn't extend past the internet. That is as far as it goes. I hate to say this, but her fans are a group of people who don't fit into ordinary society comfortably, so they follow Gaga because they identify with her. Britney's reach is far past any one media form. She has influenced global culture in a way that Gaga can only dream.
And my favorite part is that Britney cares nothing for fame, while Gaga strives for it, yet is nowhere near as big as Britney.

Because pop stars and their music are confined to being simple and empty like a meal of popcorn.

Since when is experimenting with dubstep not innovative?
And let's not forget all the innovative material she's made over the years on In the zone and blackout most notably.

Well you can doubt all you want.
Britney has come up with the concepts of most of her music videos including toxic, womanizer and most recently Criminal.

Yes, Gaga is huge right now and making a big impact on pop culture, but we can't forget Britney was making the same moves back in the day.
The thing is, Britney was making moves in music. She was starting trends not only on radio, but in videos. It's something that she still does to this day.
Gaga, on the other hand, has only left an impact based on controversy. She's had some huge hits, but so has LMFAO. Let's not compare apples to orange, but at the same time, Britney's got a lot more apples, if you know what I mean.
|
LOL its completely the other way around.

but she's NOT JUST A POPSTAR
and I need not to get into it again! Everything she's done during the BTW era has proved this. All of her LGBT work proves she does much more than write soulless candy pop songs
She is a philanthropist, creative innovator, worldclass performer, one of the richest women in the world, and most of all she is an ARTIST -- she has met with heads of state, launched a anti bullying foundation, met with nonpolitical leaders from all over the world, and yes to top it all off she happens to be the largest popstar of our current generation
and on the other topic, i don't understand how people can be so shallow as to not see that she always has an artisitc vision. Again and again i've said you need to seperate that from whether you agree with the vision or think she executed it well.. but you have absolutley no ground to call into question her artistry.
