I don't think being smart or savvy is a talent. And you obviously do, so that's where the difference lies.

Madonna's greatest talent used to be finding trends before they became popular, and infusing elements into her pop music, along with pushing the envelope with videos and performances. Most of that is being savvy IMO.

A much lesser artist would've folded after the backlash from 1993 but Madonna was able to pull herself back up relatively unscathed, especially when you consider the other pop icon who saw a backlash in 1993 and didn't seem to receive the public's forgiveness until he died.

Well to be able the be the most "talented" popstar your voice has to be......you know.....good. Her voice is average at best
