Jennifer Hudson to replace Beyoncé in A Star Is Born!
Quote:
As of March 2012, it was reported that Beyoncé Knowles had dropped her role in the remake of "A Star Is Born" to be directed by Clint Eastwood. With her recent pregnancy and move to Brooklyn, the "Run the World" singer has decided to focus on family and touring at the end of the year. Mr. Eastwood set out on a nationwide search as soon as he heard the news of Beyoncé's situation, and auditioned singers Jennifer Hudson, Rihanna, Brandy, Christina Aguilera and others. As of now, Mr. Eastwood's first choice is Grammy and Academy Award winning singer/actress Jennifer Hudson, who had a breakout success with her role as Effie White in "Dreamgirls". When asked about Jennifer, Clint said "I couldnt be more happy to offer the role to Jennifer. If anyone should replace Beyoncé it should be Jennifer. Her charisma, powerful voice and beauty worked perfectly for this role. And she also is fat anymore, which is a plus!" Production will start at the end of this year, and the movie has a tentative release date for spring 2014.
