Well I just came back from the movies and I saw the Hunger Games. I read the book and I enjoyed the movie. One person in my family did not. That is my mother. She is a teacher so seeing a movie where kids have to kill each other didn't sit well with ha. She said that now kids will kill each other in society even more than they already are. Is she right? Do you think child violence will increase from a movie like this? Or is she just old, broke, and cranky? Discuss.
With all due respect, I think she's just over-reacting as most of the adults are. The movie is obviously fictional, and it was made for the sole purpose of entertainment. Child violence will remain as it is now.
Well, after reading the book (seeing the movie on Monday), i truly believe this "Hunger Games" is a vision of the not too distant future. You have kids killing kids on the street every day, soon they will be forced to do so in an arena. THis Hunger Games will happen in the future.
