Popfusion's Top 90 Singles of the '90s
Okay guys - remember the last time I did one of these things? Well, this time is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.
1) You guys won't have to compile your lists in this threaf - you'll do it via pm (to me, of course).
2) You guys won't have to do the whole 90 at once - for the first round, you'll be sending me an UNRANKED list of your 45 songs.
But here's where the **** hits the storm. Remember how last time, I had a stop gap of 5 songs per artist? Well this time, only ONE SONG PER ARTIST. =-o Hear me out please?
I'm doing this to make the master list (the one before the final) as diverse as possible.
Some more rules: The one song per artist rule can only be challenged when an artist has performed in a COLLABORATION. BUT, it has to be a collaboration wherein they are the featured artist, not the main artist.
Example: If one wanted to include Moving On by Mya (although I would hope not), they could also include BOTH Ghetto Superstar (because it's Pras's track) and Take Me There (because both Mya and Blackstreet share equally). But they CANNOT include It's All About Me because it is a song by Mya featuring someone else, not the other way around.
Another example - you can thereotically have a Brandy song, a Monica song AND The Boy is Mine. (I plan on doing so!)
Remember guys, vote for your FAVORITE songs by artists, not the ones that you think will make the list. ANY song with TWO or more votes automatically makes the master list. And then it will get really confusing!
But most of all, HAVE FUN.
This thread can be used as a FYC thread to remind people of songs that you love but that some might've forgotten.

Also, for the purposes of this thread, Say My Name and What a Girl Wants count as 90s songs.

one song per artist is tough but manageable.
and are you going by a song that was released in the 90s, peaked in the 90s, or was on a cd that was released in the 90s.

Singles that were released during 1990-1999. Which will be really tough for me, because I don't know the singles for some acts (LIZ PHAIR).
also, I'd like the pms due by next Friday.

I think it should be 1991-2000 because that's actually the 90's.

Cucu, I knew you felt this way because you expressed it also when whatshisname did the Top 50 Movies of the 90s list at OW.. (Yes, I'm a member too!) But in America, this is the way we count decades. As everyone knows, we do things differently here. (Clockwise toilets, the whole month/day thing, FAHRENHEIT, the CUSTOMARY system!) But since this is (until Popfusion takes over) a forum for American TRL, we have to follow the rules.

Who are the dumbasses who assumed they were from the 90's? Come foward!
Who the hell voted for "I Will Always Love You"?!?! Obviously they forgot Whitney's record-breaking, signature hit, "My Name Is Not Susan", which fyi, will be on my next list.
