Is ripping CDs from the library any better than freeloading?
I do a mix of freeloading and buying music, and my friend criticizes me for freeloading, but they rarely buy music and just get music from libraries, rip them on their computer and iPod. She thinks what's she doing is better, but in my opinion it isn't better, it's just legal. Do you agree?
I'm not sure, actually. You can't really control that if it is illegal though, because you can do whatever you like with it once you check it out.
Well, if it's not legal, then it's not any better than "freeloading"
or downloading music from the internet. It's just the less
efficient way of illegally obtaining music/videos.
Didn't we have an exact same thread like this before? I forgot if it were yours. But anyway, what he's doing isn't any better. And it's neither legal, as well.
I think getting a cd from the library is the better way to go if you want to guarantee that you won't get thrown in jail because they tracked your ip address. But essentially they are both as bad as each other since in both instances you're not paying for the music.

I feel bad for freeloading because you're stealing in a way, and your copy isn't legal so it doesn't help an artist get closer to certifications or climb higher on charts.
I wish all music was free
