One Direction have revealed that they have nicknamed Liam Payne as their own 'Gary Barlow'.
The boyband explained that Payne had become their natural leader, whose role was similar to Barlow's in Take That.
Niall Horan told The Sun: "Liam has that Barlow aura. He says things like, 'Come on boys, let's roll. Let's get going'. He knows it and can't deny it."
Harry Styles added: "He just needs the briefcase."
One Direction have experienced a highly successful period in the US so far this year, including becoming the first British boyband to debut at number one on the Billboard album chart.
Styles recently said that he was grateful for his band's recent US success.
I think the boys mean Liam is the most mature out of the group. I also gather that he is the most level-headed about fame since he is always nice to the fans regardless of how tired he is, or how harassed he is being,
