That was SO COOL!

I actually liked most of the changes they made from the book. And the added scenes were great. As a fan, I was beyond satisfied. I thought it was perfect.
As a critic, I had some issues with it. Mostly with the lack of character development. And the CGI at times wasn't the best. And had I not read the books, some things wouldn't have been very clear to me. For example, it's hard to see that Katniss is faking the romance. They kind of mention it, but vaguely. When she says, "We try to forget."
I think the movie stands well on its own, but it's better to read the book and reinforce some of the things left unclear.

I saw it again on Wenesday and was again slayed. I agree seeing it twice helps you really take it in. I think they should release a higher rated DVD showing all the blood and stuff they deleted Thoughts?

I saw the movie and it was great, so now I'm reading the book and it is really good as well.

Completely agree. The first time I saw it, I had mixed feelings. The second one, I felt in love with it.
I would totally buy the DVD if it had deleted or any extended scenes.

The first two are flawless, Mockinjay isn't, IMO.

TBH it was a great touch

He's mentioned a couple of times in Catching Fire.

But his adding to the movie was really perfect, I really like everything they added. The only complaint that I would have is the relevancy they gave to his character, cause he's not that relevant to the entire saga, albeit his job is.

As a whole,I love hunger games more. But the arena scenes in catching fire is better. The clock-like arena.

I was actually surprised that the theatre had more men watching the film. I thought it would appeal more to women. I also don't get the significance of leaving out madge on the film.

Madge really wasn't all that important, when we really think about it. Having her in the movie would have been another actor to pay and another few minutes to establish a character. They figured it would save time and money to just cut her out and have Prim give Katniss the pin instead. It would have been cool to see Madge, but at the end of the day, they could easily cover up all the holes that eliminating her character would create.
Madge was symbolic for how government children get it easier. But other than that, she really had no importance.

He wasn't mentioned in the first book?
I haven't read it in a while, so I don't remember too clearly. I was almost sure he did. I know for a fact he was mentioned in Catching Fire especially when Katniss hung his dummy .

I just finished reading the first book like 5 minutes ago. Tomorrow morning I'm seeing the movie! I will be back with thoughts/input!

Just came home from the theater. I just watched it for the first time and I loved it
I was a bit skeptical thinking it was gonna be more romance ala Twilight (I haven't read the books) but I was pleasently surprised.
