A lot of people involved in their own work tend to feel proud to the point of exploiting their own material, for better or for worse. Good marketing strategy, but it does set standards too high. The best changes in music seem to be unplanned.
I think with Ke$ha, she just wants to see rock back into the pop music backround. her tour was full of rock influences and all she does. She is probably just super excited about making a record with a mix. While saying that she working on a new genre, I am just sure she is hyped and is trying to hype her album. Nothing more.

ummm NO you referenced like two songs there. Where is the 1/3 of her discography? First of all Piece of Me is supposed to be taken tongue in cheek, and is about Britneys public persona. The producer of Gimme More says "Legendary Miss Britney Spears" ... not Britney

pop Artists have been trying to Let this "hype my aLbum until the exPectatiOns are PainSTAkingly high" thing go on foR too long. Some of tHem OUght to Let the music speak for itself. It's a roll of the Dice that doesn't always play off. By now, I would Expect MORE of tHem to Understand that hype May not always Be the greatest way to promote, sometimes it becomes a Liabilty instEad.
