Anyway, remembered as what? an icon in music, as in their songs still being mentioned years from now? Only rihanna and britney and eminem fit that category. If we're talking about an icon in general as in they will be remembered as a person, rihanna is still too young so it''s hard to tell, beyonce, brit and x and em definitely and also lady gaga although i'm not too sure about her.

Honestly, they would all probably be remembered significantly. As an icon? Beyonce, Britney, Christina, Eminem, and Justin T. are the only definite ones. The others could be debated.

I don't think I ever said that any artist would be remembered more than another, that was another poster . And of course she won't be remembered for her hair but you are delusional if you truly believe that people won't remember her for her music, especially considering how many hits she's had. Also, the controversy surrounding a few of her music videos etc. Yes the incident was a big moment in her career but it is not the first thing people think if when they think of rihanna. That's like saying Britney is only remembered for her breakdown in 07 and that overshadowed everything else in her career (which is obviously not true).

That incident has been brought up for three years, with each album she has released since then. It will continue to be brought up. She has many big hits, but only a few of them are even referenced. She has no mega-selling albums. You're sadly mistaken to think that she will be remembered more for her music.

It was a general statement. And Rihanna was never the phenomenon that Britney was, and never had an era as memorable as Britney's debut. She was the face of teen pop. Rihanna is the face of what exactly? She's just another successful pop star with hits. Try another artist.

I think the ones who have the longest careers are most likely to be seen as icons. If rihanna lasts more than ten years in the industry and then dies, I think people will definitely see her as an icon of some sort because of the amount of success she's had.

But saying she will be remembered more for her music is reaching a tad.

She doesn't have that critically acclaimed masterpiece or mega seller, and while I'm sure we all will be singing her songs years down the line, I doubt she will be remembered for that more, sadly.

I'm not shading or trying to discredit her. She's not a Michael or even a Britney. They had downfalls and personal issues, but they had eras that will stay embedded in pop culture. I don't think Rihanna has that... yet.
