It isn't making a difference - it all depends on how good her next song is. I do think she needs to take time off to 'cross eras' though if she wants to taken seriously as an artist which she clearly does!

So , yes , she does need a break from the media , she managed so cleverly to drastically minimize the press / exposure , by stating to Oprah that she is not willing to do any more interviews..What is even more impressive it that she still slays the rest of the Pop Trinity simply by selling out almost every stadium/arena..at the end of the day Gaga's 'underperforming' era was much more succesful than Katy's and Rihanna's-and this sud leave them stans hot and bothered..
