If 1/2x +1/2(1/2x + 1/2(1/2x +1/2(1/2x + ... = y,
then x = ?

x/2 + (1/2)(x/2 + (1/2)(x/2 + ... = y, so
x/2 + y/2 = y, so
y/2 = x/2, so
y = x

1/2 +1/4 + 1/8 + 1/16 + 1/32 + ... = y
y = 1 = x
y = x
