I really don't want to see it go any lower. I can only imagine the "in your face!!" responses from Little Monsters if it goes lower than Born This Way.

I agree with Bea, the critics are most likely giving high reviews due to her being Madonna rather than listening to the album's quality. I dislike everything I've heard so far - it sounds bland and far steps below other material.

I doubt it, seeing as how American Life and Hard Candy didn't get very good reviews......
This album has a lot of merits that other Pop albums don't have.

What? Critics and the general public have always taken great pleasure in crucifying Madonna. I think it's a miracle she gets good reviews at all sometimes.

Madonna is already the best selling female artist of all times and had more than 30 years in the business. She's above this kind of things.

I stanned for Madonna as a kid and I like her.
I just think that her score isn't telling as to whether it will smash or not; the singles haven't impacted the GP at all. Also, didn't BTW have critical acclaim and underwhelmed? Isn't TD critically panned and still enjoying success?

Where in this thread does anyone suggest that its rating will solidify its success? Madonna has received bad reviews in the past, so it doesn't make sense to say they are doing it "just because it's Madonna". If anything this album could have easily been an open door for them to drag her further after Hard Candy, but it's a quality album. The critics are just mostly agreeing.
