I was watching TV and the local news for Seattle came on and the opening story was the man speaking out about what had happened. Apparently he and the woman were walking and he was talking on the phone, which the off duty officer 'mistook' for a gun, so he started shooting at them. The man covered his face with his hand, so that was the only part of him hit but the girl got shot in the head and died later in hospital.
I think it was her brother or someone else close to her that later then started crying on camera. It was such a saddening moment seeing her family weep in her absence and then in the background there was a guy holding up a newspaper article for Trayvon. Both deaths are so unjustified.
