I like her music, her fans are annoying. I saw her in concert and I had a great time although she didn't sound good at all but she said she was sick soo idk. Her concert is probably 3rd in the amount of fun I had Gaga>Skrillex>Katy>Ke$ha>Britney>>>>Everyone else I've seen.

I think the main reason why so many people have it against her is that she always prove them wrong.
At first haters said that she was a one-hit wonder.
Then she released Hot N Cold, Waking Up in Vegas and proved they were wrong.
Haters said Teenage Dream wasn't going to sell 1 million copies because it sold 190k on its first week.
She sold more than 2 million, and now what? They say that isn't good because she had 5 number ones.
Then you have singles, she released IKAG, CG, TD, Firework and E.T. and all of them were number ones and sold more than 4 million copies without remixes or discounts. But that isn't good either, because she released remixes for LFN and TOTGA.
They said after LFN she couldn't have success, but Part Of Me (the leftover) debuted at #1 and sold more than 400k first week. Now they are trying to say the song is underperforming because it's not Top 10 on iTunes, even when it's performing great on Radio.
So, here is the answer, they are pressed because Katy keeps proving they are wrong about everything.
I am ready when she starts having hits without Dr. Luke they will say she's buying her own singles 4 million times to score a hit.

She's the easy target (amongst the Major Pop Girls aka Gaga, Britney, Beyoncé, Rihanna & Katy).
We are the smaller stanbase here, and most of us don't care enough to defend her 24/7 from the same people saying the same things over & over again, unlike the rest.

Her music (especially singles) is more popular and does well on the charts/sales. This keeps them pressed. SIMPLE.

Too true. Most of the Katy fans, like the Ke$ha fans, have lives. They're fun people, not so serious people who love to party and just enjoy music and don't worry about what the public thinks. The Katy & Ke$ha fans don't bother defending because we don't need too. They beat out your faves all the time & that's why ATRL comes for them. Like o said above, jealousy is an EVIL thing.

A lot of her music is basic; I guess I'll pin that on Dr. Luke, though.
Her message about equality is fuzzy due to the fact that it came out of nowhere, shortly after she had made homophobic remarks, including demanding a fan-made video to Peacock, made by an openly gay group, be taken down from YouTube.
A few other things, but it's not worth the WPs.

A lot of people are immature with their dislike. Actually most people here are actually giving valid opinions and thats great. Its when people start trolling and saying things just to bother people or pushing their opinion on her stans when it becomes a problem.
Honestly I dont know why she gets hate, I love her bubbly fun personality. I dont want her to be all serious and sophisticated all of the time, I have fun listening to her music and watching her videos, and interviews and enjoy the moments where she is serious. I dont know why people take pop music so seriously here
