But she managed to make everyone hate her (not that I have a big issue with that since the album is her best).

Having expectations of selling 30 millions album and ending at 6-8(after the tour) millions, not it's not a failure.

Her managers thoughts did faif of course but Gagas era overall didnt fail. It actually did well even though her new sound was non-commercial+wrong single choices+lackluster videos.
