that's generally because the public or music buying/mainstream public is mainly white. And it always has been.

Music is for all humanity, just because someone of one race created a genre doesn't mean that others can't make music in the same genre.

Considering most whites wouldnt touch black music 60 years ago to me is almost an insult. We can take black music, but not done by black artists. THAT is an insult to so many legendary black artists who never got recognition or sales. You can make the music, but it's not right that black artists don't get the recognition.

No one is saying they shouldn't get recognition??

But if a white person wants to make music which has traditionally been made by black people, then why shouldn't they be able to? And vice versa.
