How To Take Caps From MTV.com
First off, I suggest the mods sticky this because it will make a lot of people's lives easier.
Most people here don't know how to take video caps from mtv.com so I'll explain how to. It can be confusing, but you'll memorize it after a while. Only bad thing is, there's 2 ways and theres no way to tell which way has the cap.
First way, start off with www.mtv.com/bands/
After that, put the initial of the band, then the bands name, and then the word thumbnails (combined with a _ and not a space). EX: for avenged sevenfold you'd put www.mtv.com/bands/a/avenged_sevenfold/thumbnails/
But for someone with a last name, put the initial of the last name and the last name first. EX: for kelly clarkson: www.mtv.com/bands/c/clarkson_kelly/thumbnails/
Next is the tricky part because theres 2 ways for a song to be. Next, put the song name (seperated by _ and not spaces) ex: www.mtv.com/bands/a/avenged_sevenfold/thumbnails/bat_country
Now after this, put 82x55.jpg OR _82x55.jpg, only one will work. EX: mtv.com/bands/a/avenged_sevenfold/thumbnails/bat_country_82x55.jpg OR mtv.com/bands/a/avenged_sevenfold/thumbnails/bat_country82x55.jpg
And that is the first way, Time for the 2nd way
Start off with mtv.com/shared/promoimages/bands/
Next, do what i said about initials, band, and song name. so ex. www.mtv.com/shared/promoimages/bands/r/red_hot_chili_peppers/dani_california
Now instead of _, put a / so
www.mtv.com/shared/promoimages/bands/r/red_hot_chili_peppers/dani_california/82x55.jpg
So that's how you get caps from mtv.com, if you want a different size, put in 70x53 or 140x105 instead of 82x55, those are the only other sizes. This really isn't confusing, basically just look at the finished links and change the band and song. HOWEVER, sometimes mtv doesn't have a cap or they screw up the name, but most of the time it works
