Sorry to say this but I like to skip her part in the song.. It just doesn't seem to match for me. Plus it sounds to plain.. Sorry but this song would have smashed even without her.. Not trying to shade her but it's true..
I'm aware of that but we're talking about Christina here not being the main reason it was a hit.
My point is that she wasn't/isn't relevant and performing as successful (at the current moment) as the likes of Katy Perry and Rihanna. If they had appeared on a song with their current success it would be debatable to them making a song a hit purely by their name being on it.

The live version went straight to #1 the week they performed it, though.
Personally, I became more interested of the song because of Xtina's name on it.
But the song would still be a hit with or without her name, but she definitely helped in making it bigger.
