Showing a rare glimpse into her family life, the superstar showed off her super cool grandmother Clara 'Dolly' Brathwaite as they celebrated the pensioner's birthday.
In candid photos from the party, Dolly was seen wearing baseball caps, sunglasses and chains over her quilted dressing gown as she struck a pose for her famous granddaughter's camera.
The Barbadian singer took time out of her busy schedule to attend an intimate family gathering in Brooklyn, New York, to mark Clara's birthday.
And rarely getting time to see her maternal grandparents Clara and Lionel, Rihanna looked thrilled to be with them, uploading a series of photos of them cuddling up on her Twitter page.
After buying some food for the party in Whole Foods, Rihanna helped out at the bash by frying up some food for the Bajan-style meal.
She admitted her grandfather was confused by her ever-changing hair colour, which is currently a mix of blonde and black, and still calls her by her Christian name Robyn.
She wrote: 'My GranDad: Robyn how ya is get hair from red to cream to black??? Cuz ya don't carry wigs!!! Ya does wash it out?! ME: ROTFL (rolling on the the floor laughing). No words.'
Rihanna also tried to get her grandmother trending on Twitter with the hashtag #grangrandollybday.
