I was just reading an article about last weekend's box office, and in the comments section, John Carter fanboys were blaming the film's marginal opening on promotion. The film had tons of tv spots, including one at the superbowl, and advertisements played before almost every Youtube video. Disney even has some type of deal going on with select AMC theaters. With that said, when is promotion to blame for a product's outcome? Is promotion supposed to make up for quality?
Well, it's not like HIAM was a huge juggernaut, and the OP joined ATRL fairly recently. If anything, doesn't this prove Britney stans right about the promo for the FF era?
