That's very true, they think it's okay for her to do generic music just because she's not that popular. I haven't listened to much of her old music but Primadonna could easily be a Katy Perry song.

I'm glad you're getting used to her voice. It's very different and unique, and it does take a bit to get used to. But once you love it, you're addicted.

A Katy Perry song would focus on fist pumping or "anthemic" choruses. Primadonna puts all the danceable/upbeat production in the verses... the part of a pop song that no one really pays attention to. A Katy Perry song would feature basic, straining vocals, that any drunk person in a pub could try to attempt. Marina's voice can not be replicated. It is very unique. A generic song is a song that anybody could do, and it would be a hit. No one could do Primadonna. I doubt Katy would write those lyrics, either. And you should listen to her earlier material. You'll be surprised at what you hear if you think Primadonna sums up Marina.
