I don't dislike it. I'm just not crazy about it.

I fear for this album. Thusfar, the songs released are probably my least favorite SD songs to date. Except Unity. That one is nice. But it's still not one of my favorites.

None of these songs are giving me the same feelings I got when listening to '45' or 'Save Me' or even the more recent ones like 'The Crow and the Butterfly' or 'Diamond Eyes'.
I really hope the album as a whole is much better. I've been waiting so long for this album, I'd hate it to disappoint me.

The Crow and the Butterfly is one of my favorite songs ever.

I loved their first album and part of their 2nd album. However, they definetly chose to lighten their sound up a lot. During their 3rd album era, I recall they went on a cruise with Lifehouse of all people. It was still decent and all bands need to evolve but in some ways it felt like they were selling out.

I actually really liked The Sound of Madness. I preferred Leave A Whisper, definitely, but I thought SoM was great. It's one of my favorite albums of all time.
I don't ever want to say a band is "selling out", but I'd say Amaryllis is definitely going more the commercial route. It doesn't even sound like Shinedown anymore, to be honest.
Granted, I've only heard 3 songs. But still. I don't know.
I WANT to be optimistic for this album. I just haven't been that impressed. I want to love these songs so much more than I do. This band means so much to me. They changed my life. So I was definitely looking forward to this record. But the more songs they release off of it, the more disillusioned I am. "Enemies" and "Bully" are not the band I fell in love with. "Fly From The Inside" "45" even "The Sound of Madness" are.

I'd say they are evolving just not in a direction, I'm hoping for. Sounds of Madness is pretty good even though a bit more mainstream. Sound of Madness, The Crow & Butterfly, Call Me, and Devour are amazing. If You Only Knew and Second Chance were also good just not in the direction I really cared for.

Yeah, we'll see. I'm thinking that perhaps they are showing off the more mainstream tracks for the public but there will be more stuff for their fans that remain as album tracks.

That is what I've been telling myself this whole time. I hope it proves true.
