They truly became famous when cameras caught Simpson confused by whether a can of Chicken of the Sea contained tuna. Presto! America had a new favorite dim blonde.
I watched that Like a Virgin performance on youtube and the crowd looked bored and noone even stood. I dont understand the hype. Maybe I had to go back in time to see the reactions after the vmas was over.
It was a different era, the audience was shocked and the awards were a little different back then.
LMAO @ Mariah Carey, Jessica Simpson, and Laguna Beach summarizing MTV!!! Punk'd, Jackass, and Spring Break seem to be the bigger marks to me, other than the obvious debut of the first ever music video.
#25 is a sad waste, and a majority of MTV fans/employees know it. Yes that "show" was a commercial success, but its not worthy to be on this countdown.
Ugly.
Other than that, the other 24 are at least good or OK.
