Gaga will probably pass her... but... not in a year

Not that I don't believe you but could we have a source? These seem more accurate to me. Especially RR's since it had a huge opening. Also shouldn't Gaga's sales include remix sales of TF and BTW. As well as sales of her Holiday Jazz EP.

If her lead single is weak, you can forget about it. She is by no means over but Gaga's recording career is not exactly in a good place right now. Touringwise, she is doing amazing, but that has no impact on the singles charts which Rihanna has been ruling since 2006.
A ultimately, singles do sell albums. That's what they're meant for anyway.

Gaga has something most of these pop girls don't. A very strong and dedicated fanbase. Gaga will still pull in strong numbers even if she doesn't have a huge hit single. Her fanbase is what sells out her giant arena/stadium shows within minutes and buys her albums. Gaga is a smart intelligent woman. She actively tries to write/record songs her fanbase really enjoys because if she writes music that appeals to her fanbase than they will keep coming back so that no matter how bad her singles flop she'll still have a strong fanbase to buy her albums and tour tickets.
Even during Rihanna's strongest era, GGGB, she had some flop singles and ended the era with a flop single. It didn't mean that she was fading.
