She most likely put that bronzer on her face so she wouldn't get washed out under the lights. It looks exactly like what body builders put on before they go out for judging. It probably looked a lot better on those monitors at the show.

Agreed. However, I do think there's a difference between tanning and skin bleaching. Tanning can be done naturally, while skin bleaching just seems a bit much and more on the lines of wanting to change who you are and not how you look, if that makes sense.

I was just using those photos as examples of skin changes. I wasn't trying to infer that it was intentional or unintentional.

I know. Have they seen Miss Tina? No way is Bey the same shade as her Dad. SMH. And regardless, Bey's music is so blatantly black, that she won't appeal to pop like Riri or Katy or Gaga.

People shouldn't because most white folk are naturally pale. They darken with tanning and makeup, most of the time. Then again, I live in England. The amount of girls wanting to look black is a joke...they look like pumpkins.

I do because I look so pale at times, in winter I look so pale that I can't and I go to the beach to get more colours, besides it kinda helps you to get Vitamin D

Being pale ("fair") was desirable every around the world traditionally ("mirror mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?). That's why in Asia people still prefer fairer skin to this day as people hold onto tradition in the east. Standards in the west are always changing and now tanned, bronze skin is preferred. If you compare the same Hollywood actors from 15 years ago to now you'll see how much darker they've become. I also think it's because camera and lighting have improved so much in the past decade so paler people look washed out in photos and films and fake tans and dark makeup are used to combat it.
