DJ: Bieber's new single part JT, part NSYNC, part Ying Yang
Quote:
Justin Bieber’s love for hip-hop is influencing his new sound. The pop sensation shows off his rap skills on his new single “Boyfriend,” which is being compared to Justin Timberlake and the Ying Yang Twins.
The teen idol’s first single from his upcoming album Believe was produced by Mike Posner. Mick Lee, a DJ on Baltimore’s Z104.3, had a chance to hear the record in advance of its March 26 release and described it is a mix of Justin Timberlake’s “SexyBack” and ‘N Sync’s “Girlfriend.”
“Wow….so much different than his previous music,” wrote Lee. “AND get this… he raps…best comparison is it sounds like ‘Wait’ by the Ying Yang Twins.”
This would not be the Biebs first time rapping. He busted out some rhymes on his Christmas album Under the Mistletoe and collaborations with Chris Brown and Jaden Smith. He also freestyled over Biggie’s “Who Shot Ya?” and Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “Otis” during radio station visits.
The follow-up to 2010’s My World 2.0 is expected to have a more mature and urban sound judging from Bieber’s collaborators, which include Pharrell, Drake, Timbaland, Danja, Hit-Boy, will.i.am, Diplo, and more.
'SexyBack' and 'Girlfriend' are nothing alike. It's probably more like the latter, written from a different perspective, hence the title maybe. A mix of the two sounds messy, so this should be interesting.
Maybe they just mean he's coming for what's left of JT's weave.
He's still reigning as the bestselling, most successful, and most critically acclaimed male pop artist of the century. It's beyond embarrassing to even compare the two.

Both of their names are Justin, they're both the biggest male pop stars of their time, JT wanted to sign JB, JB is modeling his transition from child star to male star in the footsteps of JT, JB is already working towards signing artists and the idea of a record label...they're more alike than you want to believe.

The 'My World 2.0 ' score is based on 8 reviews and 'My World' on only 6. The 'Justified' score is based on more reviews than both of Bieber's albums are and the original Justin got that 70 for 'FutureSex/LoveSounds' based on over 25 reviews. Don't try it.
I wonder how Bieber transition goes. When's the single out?

Usher disagrees.
And excited to her this new sound JB is working on.

Bieber's albums came out before the height of his fame. He had no boy band to predicate his importance to reviewers. Nevertheless, his work is acclaimed.

Single out March 26.
We shall see what Pitchfork thinks about his new material.

With a line-up of collaborators ranging from Drake to Diplo to Timbaland to Pharrell to Danja to Kanye, Pitchfork may indeed have something to say about it.

JT had much bigger sales and singles that actually got big airplay. I know JB gets sales but they are nothing close to JT's and JB's singles don't get good airplay. Right now Bruno Mars is a better comparison as the next lead male pop artist than JB is.
