I'm not here to complain, I was banned from NHB thread (which I know why) but PYP also? That I don't get...ok?

Anyways, this method is amazing. I think instead of banning people completely from the forum, ban them from a thread they are abusing. Though if the thread isn't signifcant enough, it may seem pointless to ban them from a thread that won't stay active beyond 24 hours, but when I tried going into NHB one day a long time ago and got the message, I was like

I didn't get a message about being banned from the thread, it just showed!

Though there may be reasons to fully ban someone completely from the forum, I think this new method is brilliant for trolls, or people in general who like to lurk certain threads. I know there are some really active threads in Music News and even in Celebria, rarely ever in Videos, but Mods, this thread is basically to praise you!

And no I'm not trying to sweet talk me back into seeing the PYP thread (though I don't get why I was banned from it ). I just think this method is better than going through the hassle of sending an automatic ATRL message "You got 2 warning points." etc.

Something about this thread just amuses me, but I can't place my finger on what it is exactly.

I just like the system. If people abuse/troll a thread, instead of completely banning them from the forum, just from that thread.

I never experienced this on ATRL before and it's pretty nifty.

People could still get banned from the whole forum though. It's the moderators' prerogative on whether a person deserves to be banned from a thread.

Anyways, I think it's a great idea. But questions to the mods: can people be banned from any threads and not just the "sub" threads (SYG, PYP, NHB)?

Like if someone is trolling a Lady GaGa base thread, or a discussion thread? And how would you determine banning someone from the thread versus warning them (or would they get both)?

Anyone can be banned from any thread.

It's the moderator's decision to ban a member from a thread. If he has made too many points due to posting in that thread or just constantly trolls, he could get banned from there.

Just - this is not a way to speak to fellow posters outside of No Holds Barred. It's really inflammatory and rude.

If you can't approach people with respect, then ignore them. That's a headsup for everyone - sometimes people need to be banned, and not thread-banned. Being CONTINUALLY abrasive towards other posters is a quick way to head in that direction.
