Mariah had her period of "incidents" then finally after a like 5 yrs. she produced a good album that people bought. Janet is kind of like Prince, she still has hits but they aren't consistent. & since she's still doing pop music she has to step her game up if she expects to do well. Now regarding Jermaine's comments, I'm surprised he didn't mention CIARA. She's the one who I see copying Janet.

I agree with the Ciara comment. She's definitely trying to be the next dance act. She can't sing as strongly because like Janet her voice is weaker, but she makes up for it in sex appeal/dancing. Janet can't really depend on that anymore because like her brother there will come a point when you're just too old to dance all over the place. Same with Madonna reinventing herself . . . that will only go so far. Someone like Mariah however could probably belt out hits until her voice gives out so she isn't necessarily restricted to her sex appeal.
And yes, I think JD did a better job on Mariah's "comeback" singles . . . I'm not quite sure what he is thinking with Janet, and if the two indeed collaborate . . . I'm not sure how he'll make that sound.
