Having established himself as one of South Africa’s most popular artists with the success of his 2004 release ‘Come Alive’, Heinz Winckler is on the verge of releasing his third studio album through Sony BMG.
‘Moment of Truth’ sees Heinz entering slightly more mature musical territory with a more electric guitar driven production sound and material loosely written around recent developments in Heinz’s personal life. He has once again collaborated with songwriters like Matt Marston and Quin Delport who wrote some of the huge radio hits on ‘Come Alive’, and spent 2 weeks in London co-writing on a number of songs on ‘Moment of Truth’. Contributions are also made by newcomer J, a more recent signing to Heinz’s management company, Catalyst Entertainment.
The album was produced and recorded both in Stellenbosch, Heinz’s home town, and Johannesburg under the hand of top producer, Bryan O’Shea.

There is a lot of effort, fun, time, tears and joy put into this album which I hope will give the listener more than just music, but a listening experience.”
“The name of the album was inspired by a revelation I had which was the culmination of years of sorting out personal issues, growing and learning about myself – who I am, why I’m here and what I believe. The long and short of it was that I realized that in certain areas in my life I was a hypocrite – not always living according to my beliefs as a Christian. I hurt people and I didn’t want it to happen again. Amazingly enough, once I realised this and changed my habits and choices accordingly, I fell in love with the woman I’m engaged to right now! This year and this season in my life is very significant, and many of the songs on this album are inspired or influenced by it.”
‘Another Day’ the first single off ‘Moment of Truth’ hit the air waves on 10 July and will no doubt race up the South African charts as all four singles from ‘Come Alive’ did. The album will be released to retail late August.
