I've definitely heard it in religious education before, but I'm not a Christian so sometimes I'm a little behind on the specifics of his good word.
I'm a Unitarian Universalist, we're a non creedal religion. Though I personally identify as an atheist, I see the value of religion and good role models, and believe Jesus Christ was simply a very, very wonderful man who's value to society does not come from his being the Son of God, but rather his good deeds and the code of morality, compassion, and respect he exemplified in his life and acts.
