Is the new Vogue Italia editorial "racist" or "offensive"?
This month's editorial from Steven Meisel for Vogue Italia made a reference to the guetto and over the top way of dressing.
But as soon as the editorial was released, some people called it "offensive" to the black community and even "racist". Discussions are pretty heated up, so I would like to know from the ATRLers, what do you think?
I'm sorry but folks actually dress and act like that.
They're only recreating what they see.
If you're angry, it shouldn't be with Vogue Italia.
That said, this pic:
*****!
Hmm, insensitive? Not as funny as they hoped? Maybe. But not racist. Italian Vogue is one the few Vogues that features black models frequently. I'm inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt.
